Hola Amigos:
December is one of my favorite
months in Guanacaste. The days are
warm and sunny, the afternoon
breezes keep the mosquitoes away and
the air is nice in the evenings and
early mornings with a little
crispness to it.
The diving has been great; we have
had a lot of plankton in the water
keeping the local fish happily fed.
Visibility is averaging 15-25ft but
sometimes it is not what you see,
but what you hear under the water
that thrills you. We headed south
to Catalinas Point hoping to dive
with manta rays, we were not
disappointed. Before the dives
everybody was entertained by 3
humpback whales breaching the
surface. Preparing to enter the
water we could here the blow of the
whale’s spout close by. We got
really excited and hurried to get
into the water. Upon descending you
could here the whales´ song. It was
mystical and like a dream, they were
soo close that the sound vibrated in
our bodies. They serenaded us
during the whole dive, deep
baritone, soprano and tenor…What a
magical experience!
Diving Safaris is located on the 2nd
beach entrance to Playa Hermosa.
Please call the dive shop the day
before you plan to dive so we can
schedule your pick up time. Our
hours are from 7am to 4pm daily. If
you miss us, leave a message at
672-1259 or 672-1260. We will
return your call first thing the
next morning.
DON’T FORGET YOUR C-CARDS!
