To make a reservation to do one of our many courses, please contact us via e-mail with your name, age, what course you want to do, when you want to start the course and where you will be staying. If you are already certified, then please send us your current level of certification.

Participants in a scuba diving course will also be required to sign a statement regarding medical history, so if you have any medical conditions that may prevent you from participating in this activity, it is recommended that you contact your physician and obtain a signed release permitting you to participate. PADI provides a special type of medical release form with information about scuba and more for your doctor, so please contact us if you need this form and we will send it to you.

Description: During this mini-introduction to scuba, the instructor highlights some of the basic safety rules of scuba and demonstrates the proper use of the scuba equipment.. The children can then dive in a shallow swimming pool under the direct supervision of an instructor.

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum required for this class.

  • Participant must be at least 8 years of age.

The Bubblemaker kit includes: a Bubblemaker towel, a water toy, tattoos, stickers, logbook and certificate of completion.

This is a great way to get eager future divers into the water and scuba diving with out them having to wait until they are 10 to do a Discover Scuba or to get their full certification.

Description: Have you ever dreamed of breathing underwater and swimming with the fish?

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving course is the perfect wat to get a taste of Costa Rica underwater with out having to complete the full 4 day Open Water course. It is quick, fun and SAFE!

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum required for this course.

  • Participant must be at least 10 years of age.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

Duration: One to one and a half hours for the pool and theory, plus the one day of diving.

Price includes: Pool training, instructing, two dives and equipment rental.

Course outline:

The class and pool session takes about one hour and can be schedules for any day. Your first breath underwater is truly incredible, even in a pool! After the pool introduction, you can go diving with a PADI Instructor to a depth of 40ft/12m.

If you love it, you can sign up for another day or you can continue on to get your PADI Open Water certification.

We offer two options for completing the theory and pool introductions in the pool. You can either complete the pool session in the morning, before the dive or you can complete the pool session the day before.

NOTE!: The Discover Scuba Diving course is not a certification, but it can be credited toward the PADI Open Water course within 30 days of the Discover Scuba Diving experience.

Description: This course is perfect for junior divers ages 10 and 11 or for people that have limited time during their vacation, but want to get certified.

This certification allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 40ft/12m with a diving professional.

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum required for this course.

  • Participant must be at least 10 years of age.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

Duration: two days

Course outline:

Day One 9AM to 2PM: You will watch the training DVD, study the first three chapters of the PADI Open Water manual and complete the knowledge reviews and quizzes. You will also cover the theory and complete the confined water pool sessions with your instructor.

Day Two 8AM to 2PM: Day two is diving day, you will be completing your training dives one and two to a maximum of 40ft/12m. The first dive is a relaxation dive, which allows you the time to get comfortable underwater and enjoy the fish and underwater scenery. During training dive two, you will be asked to repeat some of the skills you previously learned during your confined water training. After successful completion of these skills, you can continue exploring the underwater world with your instructor. Upon returning form your last dive, you will be shown how to properly rinse and store your gear, after which you will log your dives and get your certification processed.

NOTE!: Once you are certified as a PADI Scuba Diver, you can upgrade to the PADI Open Water certification level by simply completing the remaining segments of the course with a PADI Instructor.

Description: This is your password to the underwater world. After completion of the course, you will be qualified to dive any where in the world to a recommended depth of 60ft/18m.

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum required for this course.

  • Participant must be at least 10 years of age.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

Duration: four days

Course outline:

Day one 9 AM: You will need to watch the training DVD that covers all five chapters of the Open Water manual and  you have to read and complete the knowledge reviews for  all 5 chapters of the Open Water manual. If there is time, you will also go over the theory for those chapters with your instructor.

Day two 9 AM to 2 PM: You will go over any missed theory with your instructor, take the quizzes corresponding to each of the five chapters in the Open Water manual. And then head to the pool to do confined Open Water training dives one, two, three, four and five with your instructor.

Day three 8 AM to 2 PM: Open Water training dives 1 & 2 to a maximum of 40ft/12m.  The 1st dive is a fun dive, allowing you the time to get to know yourself and the fish under the water.  During the 2nd dive you will need to repeat some of the skills that you previously learned during confined water training, after which you will enjoy underwater exploration.  Upon returning from the dives, you will be shown how to properly rinse and store your gear and log your dives. You will then sit down to write out the final exam.

Day four 8 AM to 2 PM: Open Water training dives 3 & 4 to a maximum of 60ft/18m.  Both dives will include skills learned during confined water training, followed by underwater exploration.  After the dives you return to the dive shop to clean your gear, log your dives and get your certification card processed.

Description: The PADI E-Learning Open Water Course  is an on-line study program.  Sign up through our website and study at your convenience.  We are available via internet to answer any questions you may have. After completing the on-line portion of the course you will need arrange for the completion of the pool and Open Water training dives.  This course can be completed at any PADI dive shop worldwide, including Diving Safaris.

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum required for this course.

  • Participant must be at least 13 years of age (If younger, they need to complete the entire course, including book work, at a PADI dive center)

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

Duration: Three days

Course outline:

Day One 9 AM to 1 PM: An instructor will review your paperwork and give you a quick review quiz. Then you will both go to the pool for the confined water training.

Day two 8 AM to 2 PM: Open Water training dives 1 & 2 to a maximum of 40ft/12m.  The 1st dive is a fun dive, allowing you the time to get to know yourself and the fish under the water.  During the 2nd dive you will need to repeat some of the skills that you previously learned during confined water training, after which you will enjoy underwater exploration.  Upon returning from the dives, you will be shown how to properly rinse and store your gear and log your dives.

Description: Complete your classroom and pool sessions at your local dive shop, then do your Open Water training dives in Costa Rica!

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum required for this course.

  • Minimum age is 10 years old

  • Student must bring their referral paperwork from their instructor.

  • The price we sale this course for is based on if you only need to complete your Open Water training dives, please contact us if you need to do any pool or classroom work.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

Duration: Two days

Course outline:

Day one 8AM–1:30PM: Training dives one and two are completed.

Day two 8AM–1:30PM: Training dives three and four. Upon return to the dive shop, depending on which agency your referral is from (NAUI, PADI, NASE, etc), we will process your certification.

NOTE!: This course is based on if you only need to complete your Open Water training dives. If you need to complete any pool or classroom work, then the duration and cost of the course may vary.

NOTE!: If your referral is not from a PADI Instructor then we cannot process your certification. You will have to return to the diveshop you got the referral from and have them process it.

Description: Do you enjoy diving and want to learn more about this exciting, fun sport? Then sign up for the Advanced Open Water course where you will learn more about being safe underwater, buoyancy control and more! You are required to do five training dives to complete this course. The Advanced Open Water course is a prerequisite for completing the Rescue course.

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum of participants to do this course.

  • Minimum age is 12 years old.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

  • Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

Duration: Two - Three days

Course Outline:

Day One: Study time. Come into the shop to meet your instructor, pick up your book and find out what you need to do. Spend the rest of the day reading the required chapters of the PADI Advanced book and filling out the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter.

Day Two 8AM – 1:30PM:  Go over your knowledge reviews with your instructor and then you head out to do dives one and two. Each dive will cover a different chapter from your book. Lessons depend on which area you have decided to advance your skills in.

Day Three 8AM – 1:30 PM: Training dives three, four and five.  Upon returning from your dives, your instructor will process your certification. There are no final tests for this course.

Description: The Rescue course is fun, challenging and rewarding.   Your increased confidence level will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.  The Rescue course is a prerequisite for completing the PADI Divemaster program.

Requirements:

  • There is no minimum of participants to do this course.

  • Minimum age is 12 years old.

  • Must have at least 20 logged dives.

  • Be certified in CPR (primary care) and basic first aid (secondary care) within the past two years (24 months).

  • Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

Duration: Four days

Description: This course teaches you to follow the same emergency procedures used by paramedics and doctors in applying CPR and First Aid, but at a layperson level. You will be presented with the most up-to-date medical information in a low stress environment so that you will effectively develop your skills, knowledge and confidence.   This course is required to complete the PADI Rescue course.

Requirements:

  • No minimum is required to do this course.

  • No minimum age

  • This course is not diving specific, so non-divers are welcome to enroll in the program as well.

Duration: One day

Course outline: Visual aides, including a training video, combined with hands on practice with a mannequin and your classmates will strengthen your ability to react in actual emergencies.

NOTE!: EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE is one of the prerequisites for continuing your diving education to the PADI Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Assistant Instructor and Instructor Development Course (IDC).

Description: Wish you had more time underwater?  Enriched air is the fastest growing specialty in the recreational dive industry.  Using air containing more oxygen and less nitrogen means you can stay longer because you are absorbing a smaller amount of nitrogen into your tissues. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum age is 15 years old.

  • Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.

Duration: Two half days, including a 2 tank dive trip using NITROX

Course Outline: The course consists of a small amount of theory, including reading the Enriched Diver manual, completing two knowledge reviews and taking an exam.  With an instructor, you will go over the advantages/disadvantages and safety procedures of using NITROX, as well learn to analyze cylinder contents.  Our course also includes two Open Water dives using NITROX, where the only skills required are the planning and the diving!!  All together the course takes about a day to complete (broken up into two half days).

Ever dreamed of making your hobby your job?  Becoming a certified PADI Divemaster is the first step toward achieving that dream. It is the first step in the PADI Professional field.

Description: Costa Rica is a wonderful place to learn to be a Divemaster.  Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you will expand your dive knowledge and home your skills to the first professional level of PADI.  During your training you will learn about what it takes to work and run a dive shop, deal with customers, sell courses, basic equipment repair, basic compressor use and much, much more. Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities.  After completion of this course you will be qualified to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. 

Duration: Four - Six weeks

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age is 18 year.

  • Have a current CPR (primary care) and basic first aid (secondary care) within the past two years (24 months). Note: view Emergency First Response course for details.

  • Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization. We also offer this program starting at Open Water.

  • 60 logged dives

  • Medical release signed by a physician stating that you are in good health and fit for diving.

  • Participant must not be going to higher altitude nor flying in a plane within 18 hours after their last dive.
