The

certification is your
passport to the underwater world.
After completion of the course you
will be qualified to dive anywhere
in the world to a recommended depth
of 60ft/18m.
Minimum age:
10*
Duration:
Four
days
Course outline:
DAY 1:
9 am to 1 pm: Begin by watching a
DVD that covers all 5 chapters of
the Open Water Diver manual. After
you complete the knowledge reviews
for the first 3 chapters, the
instructor will discuss what you
have learned and then you will take
a quiz corresponding to each chapter
covered. Following this, you will
head to the pool to begin the first
3 sessions of confined water
training.
DAY 2:
8 am to 2 pm: Open water training
dives 1 & 2 to a maximum of
40ft/12m. The 1st dive
is a relaxing dive allowing you the
time to get to know yourself and the
fish under the water. During the 2nd
dive you will need to repeat some of
the skills that you previously
learned during confined water
training, after which you will enjoy
underwater exploration. Upon
returning from the dives, you will
be shown how to properly rinse and
store your gear and log your dives.
On your own time before the
following day, you will be expected
to complete the knowledge reviews
for the remaining two chapters of
the manual.
DAY 3:
9 am to 1 pm: Begin with reviewing
chapters 4 and 5 of your training
manual with your instructor and take
quiz 4. Following that you will
head back to the pool to finish the
last 2 sessions of confined water
training and then come back to the
shop to write the final exam.
DAY 4:
8 am to 2 pm: Open water training
dives 3 & 4 to a maximum of
60ft/18m. Both dives will include
skills learned during confined water
training, followed by underwater
exploration. After the dives you
return to the dive shop to clean
your gear, log your dives and get
your certification card processed.
